Local Rules :
The following Local Rules, together with any additions or amendments as published by Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club golf course, will apply until further notice to all tournaments.
- OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27b)
- Beyond any white stakes, property boundary wall, fence and hoarding pertaining to construction or cart paths defining the boundary of the golf course as specified.
- Where “Out of Bounds” is defined by white stakes or a continued white line between white stakes. A ball is out of bounds when all of it lies out of bounds.
- If a players ball comes to rest in bounds next to or close to a cart path on a hole where the cart path defines the “Out of Bounds” boundary line. There is no relief from the cart path for the players stance at addressing the ball, the ball must be played as it lies.
- A ball is considered “Out of Bounds” when it comes to rest on the cart path or on the outer side of the cart path as specified and defined in the following areas.
- Hole No. 1 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest left of the white lines marked between the white stakes on the left side of the hole extending through to the back of the green.
- Hole No. 2 – “Out of Bounds” marked with white paint on the left side of the hole extended through to the back of the green. “Out of Bounds” also on the right side of the hole marked with white stakes extended to the back of the green. If your ball comes to rest on any part of hole No. 8 that will be deemed out of bounds.
- Hole No. 3 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest right of the white stakes starting from the hazard, right of the fairway extended past the green to the end of the Villas.
- Hole No. 5 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest left of the white stakes starting from Villa on the left of the green which runs through to 6th tee-box area.
- Hole No. 6 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest right of the white stakes starting from the hazard, extended down the right hand side of the fairway into Mazin Valley Gulley.
- Hole No.7 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest right of the white stakes starting from the hazard around the whole of the back of the green.
- Hole No. 8 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest right of the white stakes running from right side of the tee-box through to corner of cart path indicated by white post where it stretches down to hole 2. If your ball comes to rest on any part of hole No. 2 that will be deemed out of bounds.
- Hole No. 9 “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest left of the white lines marked between the white stakes on the left side of the hole extending through to the back of the green.
- Hole No. 10 “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest over the residential housing walls left of the fairway.
- Hole No. 13 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest left of the white stakes on the left hand side of the hole extending through to hole 14.
- Hole No. 14 – “Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest left of the white stakes that extend down past the Villas on the left hand side around the back of the green and connecting to the Out of Bounds on hole 15.
- Hole No. 15 - The ball coming to rest right of the white stakes that extend down the right hand side .
- Hole No. 15 - The ball coming to rest left of the white lines marked between the white stakes on the left side of the hole extending through to the back of the green.
- Hole No. 17 – “Out of Bounds” ball coming to rest left of the white stakes marked on the left side of the hole extended through to the back of the green.
- Hole No. 18 –“Out of Bounds” the ball coming to rest left of the white lines marked between the white stakes on the left side of the hole extending through to the left side of the green.
- The immediate area around the clubhouse, driving range, car park, surrounding flower beds and paths.
- Note: Special dispensation at hole No. 2 should a players ball come to rest on the asphalt road called the Lynx Trail in bounds directly in front of the teeing ground the player may choose to take a “FREE” drop off the road not nearer to the green or play the ball as it lies.

3. WATER HAZARDS (INCLUDING LATERAL WATER HAZARDS) (Rule 26)
- Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes. Where yellow lines are in existence they define the margin.
- Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes. Where red lines are in existence they define the margin.
4. GROUND UNDER REPAIR
- All areas indicated by a GUR notice and margined by white lines.
- Relief (Rule 25-1b) will be given for interference to stance from a hole, cast or runway made by a burrowing animal, reptile or bird.
- All newly sodded areas on the fairways will be deemed GUR
- Left of Hole 10 marked with white paint will be deemed GUR
5. EMBEDDED BALL
- Relief extended to anywhere ‘through the green’. The specimen Local rule in the rules of Golf is in effect – see page 127.

- Stones in bunkers are loose impediment and are deemed as moveable obstructions;

7. FLOWER BED
- The areas of shrubs with irrigation lines underneath on left hand side of the 2nd fairway and right hand side of the 8th fairway are considered a compulsory penalty drop for all players.
- Palm trees with rocked bases receive a free drop nearest point of relief. Rule 24 – 2 (immoveable obstruction)
